Janina Kvarnström
BACKGROUND
My name is Janina Kvarnström and I have born in 1999. I have been in Finland young riders national team in show jumping and been with in their trainings. I have been riding from very young age and I can say that riding is not just hobby to me but the way of life. My target is to build up the future with horses and competitions and possibly get a career from that. At the moment I have three sporthorses for national and international level. Horses live in our home stable, Stall Björkkärr in Lohja. I compete with my horses in 130-140cm level in Finland and abroad. I will be trained with my three horses constantly with professional coaches.
HORSES
My longest competition partner has been, 2007 born Hyper Panda (For Pleasure-Classiker). Our partnership with Panda last over seven years. We competed young riders GP-serie in 130-140 level, got many wins and placements in national and international level also abroad. With Panda we won 2017 Finnish junior championships gold medal. Sadly we lost this dear horse in winter 2021 because of sudden illness.
Volovent du Veret (Panama Tae-Richebourg) mare born in 2009. With “Pulla” (Bun) we had competitions only in one season 2018, but still reached some success; Junior Grand Prix third place was one to mention. With Pulla, we competed in 130cm level.
Heather Nova (Cannabis Z- Laroche) mare born in 2012. “Hertta” joined our team in 2016, when she was only four. We have reached very good results in horse´s own age class series. At the moment we compete in 130 level and the target is to go to 140 level.
At the same time with my own horses, I compete in 130 level with two geldings; 2009 born Everest (Chello-Hold up Premier) and 2014 born Celtas Quillian (Uriko-Cancara).

– 2018 Placements in young horse´s classes in Helsinki International Horse Show
FUTURE TARGET
My main target is to win again Finnish Campionship and to be a part of Finnish International team in Championship-competitions. Also my target is to train young horses to succeed in their own age classes. I want to get success in International competition tours and my aim is to compete in Belgium and Netherlands.
Long time target is to get to competitions with my own trained young horses in national and international competitions.
Riding is so unique sport. Rider and horse make an equal couple whose are expecting to do seamless co-operation. Also in riding competitions boys and girls are competing in same classes equally and you can still compete in top level at the age of 50. The way to be a top rider is long and you need to be persistant and patient.
